MUARA, Monday, 07 September 2020 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Officers’ Mess held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, at the Wardroom of the Officers’ Mess. Attending the event as the Guest of Honour was First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman bin Haji Suhailee @Suhaily, Commander RBN as well as Officers of RBN’s Executive Committee, Senior Officers and other mess members.
Chairing the meeting was Commander Ali Mustafa bin Hj Umar, RBN, President of RBN’s Mess Committee (PMC). The purpose of this year’s meeting was primarily to highlight the Mess’s financial status to date, its use prior to the meeting and from the previously conducted AGM in 2018. Furthermore it serves as an avenue to revisit and discuss any pending matters which was highlighted during last the last AGM and also to bring up new matters pertaining to the Officers’ Mess.
The number of RBN Officers’ Mess have seen a significant increase in its members over the years. Amongst its other purposes, the AGM is also an opportunity to introduce to new members and a platform to improve relationship and interactions within members.
Before closing, Commander of RBN took the opportunity to convey a few words of advice, amongst which he emphasized the necessity to have the AGM conduced annually at the very least, for the purposes as above. He also stresses the importance of the Mess itself, as a place where all members can and should utilize on a daily basis.
