BERAKAS, Friday, 17 August 2018 – The semifinal competition of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Musabaqah Tilawah Al-Quran, which was held in conjunction with the RBAF’s 57th anniversary, was held at the Pahlawan Hall, Berakas Garrison. Present as a guest of honour was Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad.16 participants were competed for the semi final competition, comprising 8 Qari and 8 Qariah representing each unit. Only 10 participants qualified for the final competition – 1 from MINDEF, 3 from Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), 1 from RBN, 1 from Royal Brunei Airforce (RBAirF), 3 from RBAF Training Institute and 1 from RBAF Special Force Regiment. The participants will be competing again on 31 August 2018 at the Pahlawan Hall, Berakas Garrison.
The event concluded with souvenirs and certificates presented by the guest of honour, to the invited juries, and the ‘Doa Selamat’ was later read by Lieutenant Mohd Farid bin Mohd Raffi, Operations Officer from the RBAF Religious Department.
The RBAF Musabaqah Tilawah Al-Quran competition this year is organized by the RBN and is chaired by Lieutenant Commander Saiful Hazril bin Haji Ali, RBN.
