MUARA, Wednesday 14 August 2019 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) held a Korban and Aqiqah Ceremony in commemoration of Hari Raya Aidiladha 1440H held at Surau Al-Huda, RBN. The Guest of Honour was First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily, the Commander of RBN. Also present were senior officers, officers, RBN personnel and under privileged Mukim Serasa residents.
The Korban and Aqiqah Ceremony started early the morning where a buffalo and six goats were sacrificed in the grounds of the surau before it was equally portioned and packaged. The ceremony continued on in the afternoon with a recital of
Surah Al-Fatihah and
Surah Al-Baqarah by 51519 Ordinary Rate (OD) Mohd Asmawi bin Yakub followed by the recitation of Takbir Raya Aidiladha and the distribution of sacrificial meat to senior officers, officers, personnel and under privileged Mukim Serasa residents. A total of three buffaloes and six goats were sacrificed throughout the ceremony.
Apart from performing Islamic obligations and good deeds, the purpose of this ceremony is to build Esprit De Corps among RBN officers and personnel for a harmonious working environment and creating
silaturahim between RBN and the residents of Mukim Serasa especially to those in need.
