MUARA, Friday, 25 March 2022 – In conjunction with Brunei Darussalam’s 38thNational Day, a Khatam Al-Quran event was held at Surau Al-Huda, Muara Naval base. Similar events were also held across all Suraus in the Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces with Surau Asy-Syuhada’, Defence Academy RBAF as the focal point.
Present as the most senior officer in attendance was First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Spry bin Haji Serudi @ Haji Seruji along with members of the RBN Executive Board, officers and sailors of the RBN. The ceremony was held in accordance with current COVID-19 mitigation measures.
Prior to the ceremony, Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-fatihah was recited. The ceremony continued with the recitation of selected ‘Surah’ from the Al-Quran, followed by Takhtim Al-Quran, Tahlil, Doa Khatam, Dzikir Marhaban, ‘Doa Peliharakan Sultan Dan Negara Brunei Darussalam’, Dhuha prayer, and concluded with recitation of Surah Al-Asr, Tasbih Kafarah, and ‘Doa Memohon Keampunan bagi Kedua Ibubapa’, led by Imam Surau Al-Huda.
The event is intended to instill love towards Al-Quran and to encourage the personnel of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF to incorporate the Al-Quran in their daily lives to uphold His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s aspiration to make Brunei Darussalam a nation of Zikir and its citizens knowledgeable in the Al-Quran.
