MUARA, Wednesday, 26 January 2022 – First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Spry bin Haji Serudi @ Haji Seruji, RBN Commander received an introductory call from Wing Commander Matthew Charles Xerri, Defence Adviser of Australia to Brunei Darussalam this afternoon at Bilik Pahlawan, RBN Headquarters.
During the call, both sides expressed pleasure at the long-standing friendship between two countries especially both navies, that have continually flourished through various avenues of interaction. Both sides have also expressed interest in further enhancing bilateral ties in the future through various engagement opportunities.
The courtesy call was conducted in accordance to COVID-19 guidelines from the Ministry of Health and the Prime Minister’s Office. All in attendance were ensured to have negative ART test results prior to the courtesy call.
Wing Commander Matthew Charles Xerri assumed the appointment as the Defence Adviser of Australia to Brunei on 1 December 2021. The Royal Brunei Navy is hopeful for the prospects of enhanced relations between RBN and the Royal Australian Navy and between the two Armed Forces in general.
