BERAKAS GARISON, Thursday, 07 November 2019 – The Battlefield First Aid Course Series 03/2019 for Military and Civilian personnel of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) ended today held at Medical & Health Services, Combat Service Support, Royal Brunei Land Force (MHS CSS RBLF), Bolkiah Garrison.
15 personnel consisting of 14 personnel from RBN and one personal from Muara Maritime Services (MMS) completed the course and awarded as Qualified First Aiders for a period of two years.
The course was conducted for four days which started from Monday until Thursday 04-07 November 2019. Instructors were from MHS CSS, RBLF led by 21326 Corperal Norrafiah binti Abdul Rappar, Battlefield First Aid Coordinator and Civilian Haji Shahrin bin Abdul Ghaffar, Medical Training Wing Instructor. The course included theory classes and field practical including bandaging, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Battlefield First Aid.
The objective of the course is to understand the basic survival skills of saving lives in any real time situations. All course participants are expected to become a certified First Aider in their respective RBN departments especially in any emergency situation. RBN will continue to send its military and civilian personnel to attend this course in ensuring first aid knowledge is maintained in RBN’s challenging working environment.
