ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY, Tuesday 29 June 2021 – The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) women military personnel celebrated its 40th anniversary since its establishment on 29 June 1981 at Surau Al-Huda, Royal Brunei Navy.

Present as the Guest of Honour was Colonel Norsuriati binti Hj Sharbini, Head of Judge Advocate General’s Office, Ministry of Defence. Present at the ceremony were female officers, female veterans and enlisted personnel of the RBAF.

 The ceremony commenced with a special lecture titled “The Roles and Challenges of Muslimah in the era of Globalisation” (Peranan dan Cabaran Muslimah di era Globalisasi) delivered by Siti Juhaidah binti Hj Bujang, Religious Officer from the Islamic Da’wah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs. This special lecture touched upon balancing professional life and motherhood as well as issues such as sexual harassment in the workplace.

The event was then followed by the recitation of Surah Yassin, Tahlil
and
Doa Kesyukuran led by 1262 Lt Siti Nur Hazwani binti Ismail, Religious Officer from the Religious Department, RBAF.

In addition to celebrating 40 years since the establishment of the Women Military Company, the event was also organised to strengthen existing relations and nurture religious spirituality among the RBAF women personnel. Currently, there are approximately 800 women personnel serving for the RBAF.
