MUARA NAVAL BASE, Friday, 26 July 2024 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) held promotion ceremonies today to both Senior and Junior Ratings. The events took place at the Dewan Samudera for the Junior Ratings and at the Warrant Officers, Chief Petty Officers, and Petty Officers Mess for the Senior Ratings.The morning began with the Junior Ratings promotion ceremony at Dewan Samudera, with a total number of 130 personnel being promoted. 28 were promoted to the rank of Petty Officer, 32 were to the rank of Leading Hand, 02 were promoted from Able rate to the rank of Leading Hand, 51 were promoted to the rank of Able Rate and 18 were promoted the rank of Able Rate.
Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, Acting Commander of the RBN, present as the Guest of Honour. The ceremony was attended by members of the RBN Executive Board, RBN officers, ratings, and the family members of the newly promoted personnel.
Following this, the Guest of Honor, along with the RBN Executive Board members and officers, proceeded to the Warrant Officers, Chief Petty Officers, and Petty Officers Mess for the Senior Ratings promotion ceremony. During this event, 12 individuals were promoted from Acting Petty Officer to Substantive Petty Officer, and 16 were elevated from Substantive Leading Hand to Substantive Petty Officer.
Both ceremonies commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the presentation of rank insignias by the Guest of Honour and concluded with a recitation of Doa Selamat.
