MUARA, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 – Officer Cadets and Midshipmen from Intake 17, Officer Cadet School (OCS), Defence Academy (DA), consisting of 56 Officer Cadets and Midshipmen, conducted a visit to the Royal Brunei Navy. Lead by Platoon Commander 2 Intake 17, Lieutenant Adib Izzuddin bin Haji Ramli, RBN, he highlighted the purpose of the visit which was to provide knowledge of the Roles and Responsibilities of the RBN, the capabilities of its assets and equipments, as well as the facilities utilised by the RBN. The Cadets and Midshipmen are currently in their Generic Term, specifically studying Military Technology and Tactical Military Appreciation Processes (TMAP).
The group was received by an officer from the Naval Training Centre (NTC), Lieutenant Mohd Husaini Bin Hj Mohd Sofian, RBN, and welcomed by Assistant Chief of Staff (ACOS) Capabilities & Development, Commander Shahairil bin Hj Md Shahlan, RBN, at the Nakhoda Ragam Hall, NTC. This was then followed by a brief on the RBN organisation by Staff Officer Grade 2 Operations, Lieutenant Commander Malek Fadillah bin Pehin Dato Haji Kefli, RBN.
The cadets were also given the opportunity to visit a Patrol Vessel, the KDB DARULEHSAN, which included a brief on the capabilities of the ship and a tour onboard.
Concluding the RBN study visit was a brief walkthrough at Synchrolift Bravo and the Weapons Workshop.
