KDB DARULEHSAN JOINS SEA PHASE FOR ASEAN SOLIDARITY EXERCISE- 01 NATUNA 2023
BATAM, REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA, Thursday, 21 September 2023 – The Sea Phase for the ASEAN Solidarity Exercise – 01 Natuna (ASEX-01N) commenced with a pre-sail brief to the Deputy Commander Task Group (DCTG) and attended by Commanding Officers and officers from participating naval ships and personnel from National Search and Rescue Body (BASARNAS), Republic of Indonesia.
Participating ships then slipped off in a sequence and made way independently to the rendezvous position in vicinity of Natuna Island, Republic of Indonesia, where the exercises were conducted.

MUARA NAVAL BASE, Thursday, 21 September 2023 – Captain Khairil bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) in his capacity as the Acting Commander RBN received an introductory call by Colonel Arita Satoshi, Japan Defence Attaché Accredited to Brunei Darussalam. Also present were the Fleet Chief of Staff, Staff Officer Grade 2 N3 (Operations), Staff Officer Grade 3 Foreign Military Liaison Defence Attache and Fleet Staff Officer Grade 3 Intelligence.
KDB DARULEHSAN SAFELY ARRIVES AT BATAM PORT, REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA FOR THE ASEAN SOLIDARITY EXERCISE – 01 NATUNA (ASEX-01N)
BATAM PORT, REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA, Tuesday, 19th September 2023 – KDB DARULEHSAN of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) has arrived safely at Batam Port, Republic of Indonesia at 18th September 2023 to participate in the inauguration of the ASEAN Solidarity Exercise – 01 Natuna (ASEX-01N) hosted by Tentara Nasional Indonesia (TNI) which will be held at Natuna Island, Republic of Indonesia from 18th to 23rd September 2023.
ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY PARTICIPATES IN THE 29th CARAT EXERCISE
MUARA, Tuesday, 19 September 2023 – The 29th Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Exercise, 2023 has officially concluded with a closing ceremony aboard USCGC MUNRO. This year’s CARAT Series, launched on 12th September, consisted of the Shore-phase which was conducted between 11th September to 18th September encompassing Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) programmes including a Legal Symposium, Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA), Medical Exchanges, Force Protection Training, Maritime Aviation Practises, Expeditionary Mine Countermeasures (Ex MCM) as well as Combined Band Performance for the general public. Meanwhile, the practical Sea-phase was conducted between 15th – 16th September involving Royal Brunei Navy’s KDB DARUSSALAM, KDB DARULAMAN, and the U.S. Coast Guard cutter (USCGC) MUNRO (WMSL 755). During the Sea-phase, the exercises conducted include Division Tactical Photo Exercise (DIVTACS PHOTOEX), Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS), Screen Exercise (SCREENEX), Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX) and UAS demonstration.
ACTING COMMANDER OF THE ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY ATTENDS THE 25TH INTERNATIONAL SEAPOWER SYMPOSIUM IN USA
NAVAL WAR COLLEGE, NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND, USA, 19-22 September 2023 – Navies from all around the world have gathered for the 25th International Seapower Symposium (ISS) in the Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island, United States of America. The four-day event, themed “Security Through Partnership”, held from 19 September to 22 September was chaired by Admiral Lisa Franchetti, Chief of Naval Operations, U.S. Navy. Representing the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) was Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, RBN, Acting Commander RBN, accompanied by Lieutenant Commander Haji Mohammad Arnold bin Haji Osman, RBN, Commanding Officer of KDB DARUSSALAM.
MINISTRY OF DEFENCE AND RBAF HOLD THE OPENING OF DIKIR MAULUD 1445H
MUARA NAVAL BASE, Saturday, 16 September 2023 – To commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and express gratitude and love for the prophet as well as to seek blessings from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, the Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) held the opening of Dikir Maulud 1445 Hijrah simultaneously at all RBAF suraus and Masjid Pulau Baru-Baru with the main focus at Surau Al-Huda, Muara Naval Base.
