MUARA NAVAL BASE, Thursday, 21 September 2023 – Captain Khairil bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) in his capacity as the Acting Commander RBN received an introductory call by Colonel Arita Satoshi, Japan Defence Attaché Accredited to Brunei Darussalam. Also present were the Fleet Chief of Staff, Staff Officer Grade 2 N3 (Operations), Staff Officer Grade 3 Foreign Military Liaison Defence Attache and Fleet Staff Officer Grade 3 Intelligence.
During the call, The Fleet Commander RBN welcomed the Defence Attaché and highlighted the close friendship with Japan especially between the Royal Brunei Navy and the Japan Maritime Self Defence Force. The call also entailed discussions on potential cooperation in terms of capacity building and other cooperative avenues.
