COMMANDER RBN RECEIVED COURTESY CALL BY CAPTAIN RICHARD CATON, PSM, RAN
MUARA, Wednesday, 24 April 2019 – The Defence Adviser of Australia accredited to
Brunei Darussalam, Captain Richard Caton, PSM, Royal Australian Navy (RAN) paid
a courtesy call to the Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Haji
Othman bin Haji Suhaili@Suhaily. During the call, Commander RBN took the
opportunity to welcome Captain Richard Caton to Brunei and congratulate him on
his appointment as the Defence Advisor in December 2018.
KDB DARUTTAQWA HOSTS DECK RECEPTION ONBOARD
DA GANG PORT, QINGDAO, PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA (PRC), Wednesday, 24 April
2019 – KDB DARUTTAQWA this evening hosted a deck reception onboard on the
occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the PLA Navy. Present during the
reception was the guest of honour, His Excellency Vice Admiral Shen Jien Long,
Commander In Chief of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy. Hosting the deck
reception was RBN Head of Delegation, Captain Pengiran Mohamad bin Pengiran
Haji Damit, RBN together with the Commanding Officer.
BILATERAL MEET AND OPENING CEREMONY OF THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CHINESE PLA-NAVY
QINGDAO, CHINA, 22 April, 2019 – The Bilateral Meeting between Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Headed by Captain Pengiran Muhammad bin Pengiran Haji Damit, Deputy Commander of RBN and the Deputy Commander in Chief of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy, Vice Admiral Qiu Yanpeng was held at the Function Room, Shangri La Hotel.
KDB DARUTTAQWA ARRIVES AT DA GANG HARBOUR, QINGDAO
DAGANG PORT, QINGDAO, PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA, Sunday, 21 April 2019 - KDB DARUTTAQWA arrived at Da Gang Harbour, Qingdao, the People’s Republic of China to participate in the Multinational Naval Activities of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the PLA Navy and the South East Asia Maritime exercise 2019. Present at the welcoming ceremony was the Commander of Submarine Flotilla, PLA Navy, Senior Captain Liu, Brunei Darussalam’s Defence Attache to the People’s Republic of China, 493 Lieutenant Colonel (U) Azmie Iskandar bin Ariffin, senior officials from the PLA Navy and representatives from the local media. The Commander of the Submarine Flotilla then proceeded for a ship tour aboard KDB DARUTTAQWA.
ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY CELEBRATE NISFU SYA’BAN
MUARA, Saturday 20 April 2019 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) held an event in conjunction with Malam Nisfu Syaaban at Surau Al-Huda, RBN. Present as the Guest of Honour was First Admiral Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily, Commander of the RBN. Also present was the Deputy Commander of RBN, Senior Officers, Officers and RBN personnel.
2nd WESTERN PACIFIC NAVAL SYMPOSIUM JUNIOR OFFICERS INTERACTION PROGRAMME 2019 IN AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND
AUCKLAND, NEWZEALAND; Saturday, 20 April 2019 – The 2nd Western Pacific Naval Symposium Junior Officers Interaction Programme 2019 (2nd WPNS JOIP 2019) was hosted by the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) in Auckland, New Zealand from Monday, 15 April to Friday, 19 April 2019. Two junior officers from the Royal Brunei Navy were sent as representatives, namely Lieutenant Junior Grade Najihah binti Haji Abdul Hisab and Lieutenant Junior Grade Fatin Afiqah binti Ramlli.
