MUARA, Friday, 11 February 2022 – In conjunction with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) 60th Anniversary, a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony was held at Surau Al-Huda, Muara Naval Base after Friday prayer. The ceremony marks the completion of Al-Quran reading 60 times by 60 RBAF personnel from different units. Similar event was also held in all Surau across RBAF camp, with the main event held at
Surau Al-Fai’zun, Berakas Garrison.

Present as the Guest of Honour was Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Commander of RBAF. Also present were First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Spry Bin Haji Serudi @ Haji Seruji, Commander of RBN, Yang Berhormat Pg Hj Mohamed bin Pg Hj Osman @ Othman,
Penghulu Mukim Serasa, Haji Muhsin bin Haji Ahmad,
Pengawal Kastam dan Eksais Diraja, Pg Hj Ibrahim bin Pg Hj Timbang, Acting Head of Village for Kg Kapok, Awg Abdul Hamid bin Haji Zinin / Haji Zainin, Acting Head of Village Kg RPN Serasa,
senior officers, officers and personnel of RBAF.

The ceremony was conducted in accordance with current COVID-19 SOP. It was held to encourage and cultivate a practice of reading Al-Quran among the Muslims within the organisation.

The event commenced after Friday prayer, began with recitation of selected ‘Surah‘ from the Al-Quran, followed by
Takhtim Al-Quran,
Tahlil, Doa Khatam and
Tahlil, Dzikir Marhaban,
‘Doa Peliharakan Sultan Dan Negara Brunei Darussalam’, mass Asr prayer, and the ceremony end with recitation of Surah Al-Asr, Tasbih Kafarah, and ‘Doa Memohon Keampunan bagi Kedua Ibubapa’, led by Imam Surau Al-Huda.
