JEJU NAVAL BASE, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, Monday 15 October 2018 – Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) ship, KDB DARUTTAQWA (DTQ) was alongside at Jeju Civil-Military Harbour Complex with the other participating ship for this year’s Republic of Korean Navy International Fleet Review (ROKN IFR) from 10 to 15 October 2018 in conjunction with 70th anniversary of Republic of Korean Armed Forces.
ROKN IFR was an event that involved more than 21 naval ships from 14 different countries including 24 ships, 2 submarines and 24 aircrafts from hosting country to participate in this auspicious occasion. There were varieties of activities to mark the occasion including a stadium performances and concerts which was attended by an estimated total of 10,000 personnel from participating ship and civilians.
Present for the sending off ceremony was 82nd Squadron Commander ROKN, Captain Min Hyung Hong and officers of ROKN on behalf of Chief of Naval Operations of the Republic of Korea.
Such event is an initiative in promoting and enhancing defence diplomacy and reinforce the strength of the relationship between navies in a much wider role regionally and internationally. Equally RBN’s participation is to further enhance capabilities and capacity among established international navies.
