THILAWA PORT, REPUBLIC OF THE UNION OF MYANMAR, Tuesday, 19 March 2019
 - KDB DARUTTAQWA  arrived at Thilawa Port, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar for a goodwill visit to the country. Present at the welcoming ceremony were Captain Zaw Win, the Commanding Officer Naval Dockyard and representatives from the Myanmar Navy. The officials then proceeded for a ship tour onboard KDB DARUTTAQWA.

The day followed with a courtesy call made by Commander Sonny Iskandar bin Rasani, Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) to His Excellency Maung Maung Soe, the Mayor of Yangon and Commodore Min Thein Tint, Commander of the Ayeyarwady Naval Region Command. In the evening, RBN’s delegation later attended a dinner reception hosted by the Commander Ayeyarwady Naval Region Command at the Area Region Officer’s Mess, Yangon. 

The goodwill visit marks the RBN’s first official visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and also KDB DARUTTAQWA’s first port of call prior to its deployment for the Langkawi International Maritime Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2019. This deployment marks a significant milestone in establishing RBN as a reliable maritime partner in the region on both bilateral and multilateral platforms.
