JEJU NAVAL BASE, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, Wednesday, 10 October 2018 – KDB DARUTTAQWA (DTQ), safely arrived in Jeju Island, Republic of Korea to participate in this year’s Republic of Korean Navy International Fleet Review (ROKN IFR) from 10 to 15 October 2018 in conjunction with 70th anniversary of Republic of Korean Armed Forces.
Present at the welcoming ceremony at Jeju Civil-Military Harbor Complex were the Senior Officer, Officers of the ROKN and the ROKN Band.
Also present to receive KDB DARUTTAQWA was Captain Min Hyung Hong, 82nd Squadron Commander ROKN.
IFR is one of the largest naval event to be held internationally. This year it is held in Jeju Civil-Military Harbour Complex, Republic of Korea hosted by the ROKN. An estimated total of 20 ships from 13 countries of all corners of the globe will be participating in this year’s IFR with countries including Australia, Canada, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, U.S.A and Vietnam.
Participating from the host country will be a total of 24 ships and 24 aircrafts from their Navy, Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Maritime University Training Ship and Polar Research Ship.
The program for DTQ will kick off tomorrow morning with a Ship Technology & Weapons System visit at the exhibition hall, followed by a Pass-in-Review in the afternoon around the waters of Southern Jeju along with the participating ships.
