MUARA, Wednesday, 27 April 2022 – The Initial Planning Conference (IPC) for Exercise PELICAN 40/22 was conducted via Video Teleconference (VTC) at
Bendahara Sakam Meeting Room, Naval Training Centre (NTC), Muara. The IPC was hosted by Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) as the exercise coordinator for this year’s exercise. As a continuation from EX PELICAN 21 that was suspended due to COVID-19 situation, the aim of IPC was to plan on activities and coordination for the exercise that will be held tentatively in September 2022.
The conference was also aimed to ensure the planned activities are beneficial in terms of training values, bilateral relations, defence diplomacy, and cooperation for both navies.
The IPC was co-chaired by Cdr Pg Mohd Faren bin Pg Mohd Noor, RBN, Commanding Officer of KDB DARUSSALAM, as RBN’s Head of Delegation and LTC Paul TAN, Head Overseas Exercises, Headquarter Fleet as RSN’s Head of Delegation. Also, in attendance were Executive Officer of KDB DARUSSALAM and other ship officers. Further discussions will follow in the upcoming Final Planning Conference (FPC), which is scheduled to be held in June 2022.
