MUARA, Wednesday, 17 October 2018 – HMAS LAUNCESTON of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) arrived earlier today, berthing at Jetty Bravo of Muara Naval Base. Upon arrival they were greeted and welcomed by Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) personnel and the RBN band. Also present to welcome the crew of HMAS LAUNCESTON was Captain Jason Hunter, the Capability Manager’s Representative in charge of the Patrol Boat Groups, who arrived earlier yesterday. Onboard HMAS LAUNCESTON was Lieutenant Commander James Brewster, Commanding Officer of the ship.
HMAS LAUNCESTON arrived for their participation in Exercise PENGUIN along with KDB DARULAMAN and KDB BERKAT of RBN which will be held from the 18th of October to the 22nd of October 2018.
Commanding Officer HMAS LAUNCESTON hosted a cocktail reception at Jetty Bravo, Muara Naval Base. Also present as the Guest of Honour was First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi Bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, Commander of RBN. This reception gave opportunities for the officers and crew from both RBN and RAN to interact with one another before the exercise commences.
