MUARA, Thursday, 24 October 2019 – First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily, Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN)
received an introductory call from His Excellency Vladimir Borisovich Goncharenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation at
RBN Headquarters.
During the introductory call, Commander RBN congratulated His Excellency Vladimir Borisovich Goncharenko on his appointment as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Brunei Darussalam. Both sides exchanged views and highlighted matters of common interest, where both sides hoped could be further enhanced and developed to uphold the aspirations as stated in the Memorandum of Understanding on Military Cooperation signed on 26 April 2017 between Brunei Darussalam and The Russian Federation. Both countries are also looking forward to further strengthen its defence diplomacy through port visits and exercises in the coming years.
The introductory call was concluded with gift exchanges between Commander RBN and His Excellency Vladimir Borisovich Goncharenko and a group photo session. His Excellency Vladimir Borisovich Goncharenko presented his letter of credence to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on 18 September 2019.
