MUARA, Thursday 17 December 2020 – The Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily paid a farewell visit to the Naval Training Centre (NTC), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN).

Upon his arrival, the Commander of RBN was received by Commander Willie @ Mathias bin Padan, RBN, the Commandant of NTC. This was then followed by a group photo session with NTC officers, instructors and course participants.

 The farewell visit proceed with a speech delivered Commander of RBN and also the presentation of commemorative mementos from NTC by the Commandant of NTC and Siti Harizah Hj Awang, a representative from the Royal Brunei Technical Services (RBTS) respectively.

 In his speech, Commander of RBN reminded the instructors of their roles and responsibilities as the harbinger of producing effective and competent workforce of RBN. Being an instructor, knowledge and discipline must always be whetted as the quality of the students reflects the competency of the instructor. The commander stressed the importance of the readiness of personnel before entering into the working environment, students must be equipped with the required knowledge and skills to reduce, or even avoid, mistakes in the future. The Commander of RBN had also thanked the officers, instructors and all personnel who have tirelessly contributed to the success of the NTC.

 The farewell visit concluded with the signing of parchment and standing ovation from those attended as a form of respect and gratitude to the Commander of RBN.
