MUARA, Thursday, 13 August 2020 – The Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily, convened with his counterpart, Rear Admiral Aaron Beng, Chief of Navy, Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) during a video teleconference meeting.

During the meeting, both sides expressed firm commitment in further strengthening the bilateral ties between RBN and RSN. Both defence establishments share a long-standing history that has been continually nurtured through engagements in various areas of cooperation, such as regular exchange of visits, exercises, interactions, training and many more. However, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, any form of face-to-face interactions have been halted for the time being. The meeting entailed a discussion on future plans and finding windows of opportunities for both defence establishments.

The Commander of Royal Brunei Navy also took the opportunity to express his congratulatory remarks on the Singapore’s National Day celebrations recently held on the 9th August 2020.

Rear Admiral Aaron Beng has held the appointment of Chief of Navy of Republic of Singapore Navy since 24 March 2020.
