MUARA, Wednesday, 24 August 2022 – The closing ceremony of the Senior Rates’ Mess Introduction and Familiarisation for Acting Petty Officers (PO) was held at the Royal Brunei Navy Senior Rates’ Mess, Muara Naval Base, marking the end of the 3 day session starting on 22nd August 2022. The familiarisation was attended by a total of 20 acting PO from various vocations and backgrounds.
The familiarisation is customary for all newly promoted senior rates beginning their transition from a junior rate. It aims to expose the newly promoted senior rates to a new level of leadership contributing to the organization’s goals.
A certificate presentation ceremony was also held and presented by the guest of honour, Warrant Officer 1 Roslan bin Duraman, Naval Sergeant Major, RBN. Also present during the ceremony were invited Mess Committee members, instructors and the senior rates. The Best Overall Award was won by Acting Petty Officer Nurulesma binti Rosin. In the closing remarks, the guest of honour urged the participants to reflect on lessons learnt during the course with a vision of become a better leader. He also expressed appreciations towards the instructors who have ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the course.
The closing ceremony ended with a recitation of Doa Selamat and a group photo session with all of the participants and guests present.
