MUARA, Friday, 06 December 2019 – The closing ceremony and ceritifcate presentation for the Intermediate Weapon and Marine Mechanic M2 Series 2019 was held at Nakhoda Hall, Naval Training Centre (NTC). A total of 23 participants attended the 11 month course, which commenced on January 14, 2019.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Lieutenant Commander Md Hydzir Zuhdi bin Hj Sulaiman, RBN, Acting Commanding Officer Base and Band Officer of Royal Brunei Navy. Also in attendance were Commanding Officer Maritime Technical School, RBN officers, instructors of NTC and RBN personnel.
Speaking on behalf of the course participants was Able Rate Hafizan Bin Hj Jamaludin, RBN, who reflected on their experiences and knowledge acquired throughout the course. This was followed by a certificate presentation to the course participants and awards for the Intermediate Weapon and Marine Mechanic M2 by the Guest of Honour. The Best Student Award for Weapon Mechanic was conferred to Able Rate Ruzaiman @ Erman Bin Jufri, RBN, while the Best Student Award for Marine Mechanic was conferred to Able Rate Ahmad Suffi Bin Hj Ahmad Daud, RBN.
The Intermediate M2 course aimed to enhance the engineering knowledge and skills, as well as to develop professionalism and leadership skills that will soon be applied for when the participants return to their respective ships and department. Building on the fundamentals, the participants are trained on the intermediate-level on subjects such as Fire Fighting and Damage Control (FFDC), First Aids Course, Ship System and Equipment Training, amongst others.
