MUARA NAVAL BASE, Friday, 21 July 2023 – Twenty-four (24) Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) personnel completed their Intermediate Base Defence course which was held over 7 intensive weeks including 5 days of exercise named Eksesais Penjuru. The closing ceremony was officiated by Guest of Honour, Lieutenant Mohd Samsul bin Awg Rosman, RBN, Officer Commanding, Base Defence RBN.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and followed by a speech from the course’s participant representative. The highlight of the event was the award presentation for the Overall Best Performer which was given to Able Rate Mohd Hassan bin Mohd Daud, RBN and the Best Academic Award given to Able Rate Muhd Abd Amin Musdi bin Sukardi, RBN. The event continued with the Guest of Honour’s closing speech.
Throughout the course, the participants were exposed to theoretical lessons and practical exercises covering the tools and skills required of a Platoon Commander, Section Commander as well as that of a Riflemen. Overall, participants were equipped with peacetime and in-conflict knowledge where the former emphasizes the importance of a high safety benchmark and base security.
