GADONG, Thursday, 22 November 2018 – The Pacific Fleet of the Russian Federation this evening hosted a reception on the occasion of the visit to Brunei Darussalam at Presidential Lounge, Rizqun International Hotel.Present as guest of honour at the event was Acting Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Captain Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili@Suhaily, RBN. The arrival of Acting Commander of RBN to the reception was welcomed by His Excellency Vladlen Semivolos, Ambassador of Russian Federation to Brunei Darussalam and Rear Admiral Eduard E. Mikhalov, Chief of Staff of the Submarine Forces of the Pacific Fleet.
The reception began with an opening remarks by the Ambassador of Russian Federation where he highlighted the history of Pacific Fleet of Russian Navy and also empasised the importance of relationship of both countries towards peace and stability in the region. The opening remarks followed by a presentation of token of appreciation to the Guest of Honour.
The reception also includes performance where all the guests were entertained by varieties of singing and traditional dance from the Russian Pacific Fleet. Also present during the reception were senior officers and officers of the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
