MUARA NAVAL BASE, Monday, 28 November 2022 – The 20th series of EXERCISE HELANG LAUT between the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and the Indonesian Navy (IDN) has concluded after a 7-day interaction from 20th November 2022 to 27th November 2022.
MUARA NAVAL BASE, Friday, 25 November 2022 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) held a promotion ceremony for RBN Junior Ratings where a total of forty-nine (49) junior ratings were promoted. Present as the Guest of Honour was First Admiral Spry bin Haji Serudi @ Haji Seruji, Commander RBN. Also in attendance were members of the Royal Brunei Navy Executive Board, Senior Officers, Officers and colleagues and family members of the promoted personnel.
BUKIT SHAHBANDAR RECREATIONAL PARK, Thursday, 24 November 2022 – The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Cross Country Competition 2022 was held at Bukit Shahbandar Recreational Park. More than 200 participants comprised of officers and other ranks of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), Joint Force Headquarters Royal Brunei Armed Forces (JFHQ RBAF) participated in the event.
MUARA BEACH, Tuesday, 22 November 2022 - The Naval Training Centre (NTC) has carried out cleaning campaign activities at Muara Beach commemorating the establishment of NTC on 1st August 2016.

SERASA, FRIDAY, 18 November 2022 – The graduation ceremony for the Leading Hand Leadership Course series 02/2022 was held today for 26 Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) personnel at the RBN Watermanship Complex Multipurpose Hall, Serasa.
VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA, Thursday, 17 November 2022 – The Maritime Security Challenges (MSC) Conference 2022 was held in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, from 14th until 16th November 2022, where the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) participated and was represented by Commander Md Azrin bin Hj Mahmud, Chief of Staff RBN and Lieutenant Commander Wan Abdul Naafi bin Metussin, Staff Officer 2 Intelligence RBN.
MUARA NAVAL BASE, Thursday, 17 November 2022 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) welcomed the return of KDB DARULEHSAN at Jetty Bravo, this morning, after completing its 25-day deployment to Japan to attend the International Fleet Review (IFR) 2022 held on 6th November 2022 in Yokosuka, Japan. RBN's participation marked a significant milestone in the development of defence relations between RBN and the Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF).
Malaysian Waters, Wednesday, 16 November 2022 – A Majlis Doa Kesyukuran and Doa Selamat was held onboard KDB DARULEHSAN whilst positioned at 30 Nautical Miles Northeast of Maharajalela Oilfield prior to returning home to Brunei Waters. The event was conducted to commemorate KDB DARULEHSAN's safe voyage on their inaugural long deployment to Yokosuka, Japan and successful participation in the International Fleet Review 2022 Japan
MUARA, Wednesday, 16 November 2022 – The Maritime Communication Course 01/2022 was conducted by the Naval Training Centre (NTC) Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) from 19th September 2022 to 14th October 2022 where it was concluded with a closing ceremony and presentation of certificates held today at Nakhoda Hall, NTC. Present as the Guest of Honour was the Commandant Naval Training, of RBN, Commander Willie @ Mathias bin Padan, RBN. Also present during the event were Acting Head of Inspectorate Cell, RBN Fleet Officers, NTC Officers and Instructors.
WEST PHILLIPINES SEA, Tuesday, 15 November 2022 - KDB DARULEHSAN conducted a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony on Tuesday evening, 15th November 2022, to celebrate 2 officers and 7 sailors who have completed the recitation of 30 juzuk of the Al-Quran within the period of the deployment. The ceremony took place in the Junior Rates Mess whilst the ship was transiting through Philippines Waters positioned 140 Nautical Miles North of Balabac Island.
BRUNEI DARUSSALAM, Friday, 11 November 2022 – The closing ceremony for the 9th ASEAN Navy Young Officer Interaction (ANYOI) was conducted at the Rizqun International Hotel last night on 10 November 2022. The 9th ANYOI was hosted by the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) from 7-11 November 2022 with a total of 20 delegates consisting of junior officers from ASEAN navies and representatives including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam.
MUARA, Friday, 11 November 2022 – A closing ceremony for the Communication Radio Supervisor course was held at Nakhoda Hall, Naval Training Centre (NTC), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN). The course was conducted over 8 weeks from 16 September 2022 to 11 November 2022 at NTC, RBN which was attended by 4 RBN personnel and 1 personnel of the Royal Brunei Technical Service (RBTS).
MUARA, Thursday, 10 November 2022 – The Fleet Headquarters hosted a virtual religious study session for the Royal Brunei Navy Fleet personnel in cooperation with the Religious Department of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (JAMA'AT) through the Training and Guidance cell on Thursday, 10th November 2022. A total of 44 personnel of the RBN Fleet attended the virtual study session titled “Jamak and Qasar" delivered through Video Teleconference by Major Ariffin bin Amit, Staff Officer Grade 1 Religious Training, JAMA'AT as the guest speaker.
JAPAN, Wednesday, 09 November 2022 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) delegation led by First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Spry bin Haji Serudi @ Haji Seruji, Commander RBN attended the 18th West Pacific Naval Symposium (WPNS) held in Yokohama, Japan. This year's participation by RBN in WPNS is made more significant by RBN's inaugural deployment to Japan to join the International Fleet Review (IFR) 2022 held in Yokosuka to commemorate Japan Maritime Self Defence Force's (JMSDF) 70th Anniversary.
BRUNEI DARUSSALAM, Tuesday, 8th November 2022 – Delegations consisting of junior officers from ASEAN member states' navies were welcomed by Commander Willie @ Mathias bin Padan, Commandant Naval Training, RBN in his opening remarks during the Opening Ceremony for the 9th iteration of the ASEAN Navy Young Officers Interaction (ANYOI) hosted by the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) at Dewan Nakhoda, Naval Training Centre, RBN. The 9th ANYOI will be held for 5 days from 7th to 11th November 2022.
SINGAPORE, Thursday, 03 November 22 – The 10th Navy-to-Navy Talks between the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) was held from 02 – 04 November at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), Singapore.
MUARA NAVAL BASE, Friday, 28 October 2022 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Swimming and Water Polo Championship Final 2022 was held at the RBN Sports Complex where team Fleet B emerged as champions for the Water Polo Championship after defeating team Fleet A with the final scores of 5-1.
MUARA, Thursday, 27 October 2022 – The 16th series of Exercise Sembilang, the bilateral exercise between Police Marine, Royal Brunei Police Force (POLMAR, RBPF) and Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), has concluded with a closing ceremony held at the POLMAR Headquarters. This year, POLMAR hosted the four-day exercise which started from 24th October to 27th October 2022, involving assets from RBN under the coordination of POLMAR and RBN.

BATAM ISLAND, INDONESIA, Tuesday, 25 October 2022 – The Indonesian Navy (IDN) hosted the ASEAN Navy Chief's Meeting (ANCM) Roadmap Working Group meeting on Tuesday, 25th October 2022. The meeting was conducted at the Hotel Santika Batam, Indonesia and was attended by representatives from ASEAN Navies. The purpose of the ANCM Roadmap working group meeting is to review and update the existing roadmap in ensuring relevancy as well as to produce a new roadmap for 2024 to 2032. The roadmap aims to lay a path for future cooperation between ASEAN Navies on multiple domains including exchanges of professional practices and training.
MUARA, Monday, 24 October 2022 – KDB DARULEHSAN set sail to embark on a 25-day deployment to participate in the International Fleet Review (IFR) 2022 which will be held in Yokosuka, Japan. The IFR will be conducted on 6th November 2022, held in conjunction with the 70th anniversary of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF) and the 18th West Pacific Naval Symposium, a multilateral platform for navies of the western pacific.
MUARA, Monday 24 October 2022 – The Marine Police, Royal Brunei Police Force (POLMAR, RBPF) and the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) have commenced their four (4) days bilateral exercise today. The exercise, code-named SEMBILANG, is the 16th in its series of exercises.
MUARA, Sunday, 23 October 2022 - USS CHARLESTON, an INDEPENDENCE-class Littoral Combat Ship of the United States Navy (USN) has arrived this morning at the Muara Commercial Port led by Commander Clayton Beas, Commanding Officer of USS CHARLESTON. This follows the arrival of USNS BRUNSWICK on Friday, 21st October 2022, a SPEARHEAD-Class expeditionary Fast Transport vessel in service with the United States Navy's Military Sealift command.
CEBU, PHILIPPINES, 20 October 2022 – The Philippine Navy held an annual bilateral navy-to-navy exercise or Maritime Training Activity (MTA) between Philippine Navy (PN) and the United States Navy (USN) codenamed EXERCISE SAMA-SAMA, while EXERCISE LUMBAS is a yearly bilateral navy-to-navy exercise between PN and the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). The MTA commences from 11 to 18 October 2022. This is the first time PN conducted the bilateral exercises simultaneously and extends the invitation to ASEAN nations and other nations to participate as observers in which Brunei, Malaysia and Canada sent representatives. The exercise was designed to promote regional security cooperation, maintain, and strengthen maritime partnerships and enhance maritime interoperability.
REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE, Tuesday, 18 October 2022 – First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Spry bin Haji Serudi @ Haji Seruji, Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), was conferred Singapore's prestigious military award, the Meritorious Service Medal (Military) [MSM(M)] by Her Excellency Dr Hajah Halimah binti Yacob, President of the Republic of Singapore. The award was presented by His Excellency Dr Ng Eng Hen, Minister for Defence, Republic of Singapore, to Commander RBN at an investiture held at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) Singapore.
