MUARA, Friday, 08 March 2024 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) commenced preparations for the upcoming holy month of Ramadhan 1445 Hijrah with a ceremony held at the Naval Training Centre this morning.
Officers and personnel of the RBN were honoured to receive a heartfelt gift of dates (Kurma Kurnia Peribadi) from His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Captain Haji Mohd Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, RBN, the Acting Commander of RBN, who distributed the kurnia dates to representatives from each department. The event was attended by esteemed executive board members of the RBN, as well as Commanding Officers, Senior Heads of department and ship coxswains, who gathered to mark this significant occasion.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and followed by the distribution of kurnia dates by the Acting Commander of RBN. The distribution of kurnia dates to RBNs each units was conducted in the afternoon.
The RBN extends its sincere gratitude to His Majesty for this thoughtful gesture, which serves as a reminder of the Sultanate’s enduring commitment to the welfare and well-being of its armed forces.
