MUARA, Friday, December 15th 2023 – The closing ceremony and certificate presentation for Basic Above Water Warfare, Above Water Tactical and Marine Signaller course for the year 2023 was held at Nakhoda Ragam Hall, Naval Training Centre. The Guest of Honour for the closing ceremony was Lieutenant Afizan bin Safrudin, RBN, Second-in-Command Officer Development School.
Thirty-Seven (37) students participated in the courses, thirty-four (34) of which are RBN Personnel and three (3) from The Marine Police, Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF). Ten (10) students attended the Basic Above Water Warfare course including three (3) from the Royal Brunei Police Marine, twelve (12) students attended the Basic Marine Signaller Course and Fifteen (15) students attended the Basic Above Water Tactical Course.
These courses are compulsory for personnel within the designated vocations and are aimed to equip course participants with the necessary knowledge and skills in the execution of their routine assignments. The Basic Above Water Warfare course provides warfare knowledge to the participants whereas Basic Marine Signaller course aims to enhance proficiency and understanding on radio and communication protocols onboard RBN ships. Meanwhile, the Basic Above Water Tactical course has equipped the participants with the basic navigation skills to work onboard the ships.
Amongst the Thirty Seven (37) students, Three students were nominated as best students in each course. Ordinary Rate Darryl bin Jimmay, RBN as the best student for Basic Above Water Warfare, Able Rate Abdul Akid bin Haji Sabtu, RBN as the best student for Basic Above Water Tactical and Ordinary Rate Nur Insyirah Faresyahidah @ Fitri binti Fairul Norlehuddin, RBN as the best student for Basic Marine Signaller course.
The Closing Ceremony ended with a recitation of Closing Doa and a Group Photo Session with Guest of Honour and Instructors.
