Muara, Thursday, 2 November 2023 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Intermediate Navigation Officer Course (INOC) closing ceremony was conducted, 5 RBN Officers have completed the INOC 01/23. Present as the Guest of Honor was the Fleet Commander, Captain Khairil Haji Abd Rahman, RBN.

The course signifies a significant step in the enhancement of Navigational knowledge and professional development. Furthermore, the course provides the foundation to perform the duty of Navigation Officer and Assistant Fleet Navigation Officer with sufficient knowledge and capability to supervise their respective department may it be onboard ship or onshore duties. Added objectives for the course are to have an understanding of Bridge Management as well as management of bridge equipment and to be able to safely conduct navigation onboard RBN platforms.

Speaking as the course representative, 1220 Lieutenant Muhd Danial bin Haji Matyussof, RBN shared his views and the challenges throughout the course. He highlighted that despite the availability of contemporary navigational technology, the skills imparted have been used for many years by navigator around the world and is still relevant.

The speech was followed by the certificate presentation to the course participants by the Guest of Honour. The closing ceremony ended with the closing recitation of doa followed by a group photo session with the distinguished guest and instructor.
