– The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) hosted the Senior Warrant Officer Exchange Programme (SWEP) with the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) from 9 to 13 October 2023 at Muara Naval Base.
Royal Brunei Navy welcomed the RSN delegation led by ME6 Richard Goh, Master Chief Navy. Accompanying him were Master Chief Maritime Security and Response Flotilla, Master Chief Naval Diving Unit, Master Chief Force Generation Squadron, Chief Clearance Diving Unit and a Medical Training Expert.
Over the five days, the RSN’s warrant officers visited the various RBN departments where the RSN delegation and their counterparts conducted professional exchanges and information sharing. SWEP is an annual activity that is rotationally hosted between RBN and RSN with the objective of enhancing cooperation and understanding amongst navies through various confidence-building initiatives. The interaction is another avenue to strengthen people-to-people relations at all levels by enabling networking between RBN and RSN.
RSN and RBN enjoy a close and long-standing relationship through friendships forged at different levels of leadership over the years. They include frequent interactions through professional interactions and visits, such as regular exercises and dialogues.
