MUARA NAVAL BASE, Monday, 05 September 2023 – The Final Planning Conference for the Exercise PELICAN 41/2023 was hosted by the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) in Muara Naval Base and led by Lieutenant Commander Nazurah binti Haji Mahaleh, Commanding Officer of KDB SYAFAAT as the Lead Officer for this year’s exercise. The two-day conference was concluded with the signing of minutes of meeting between Lieutenant Colonel Lin Dianxue, Commanding Officer of MSRV SENTINEL, Head of delegation for the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and the RBN Lead Officer.

Exercise PELICAN is an annual bilateral maritime exercise between the RBN and RSN providing a unique training platform that helps the two navies foster and sustain cooperative relationships. This year’s exercise will be focused on conventional warfare and seamanship evolutions.

Topic of discussions during the meeting included the assets involved, shore and sea programmes, administrative and logistical requirements. 

Exercise PELICAN ensures the RBN’s and RSN’s deeply forged friendship and understanding, in the pursuit of enhancing maritime security and sovereignty.
