BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Monday, 31 July 2023 – Brunei Darussalam’s national flag that was hoisted on 1 July 2023 has been lowered down at the vicinity of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex marking the conclusion of the 77th birthday celebrations of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
The lowering of the giant national flag was officiated by Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohammed Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohammed Yunos, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office. The ceremony was also attended by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces’ Service Commanders.
The national flag was lowered by 20 personnel from the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) led by Lieutenant Junior Grade Muhammad Faez bin Hj Ahat, RBN. The entire proceeding was accompanied by the National Anthem, ‘Allah Peliharakan Sultan’ and concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat.
