MUARA NAVAL BASE, Friday, 28 July 2023 – The Junior Warfare Officer Course (JWOC) 02/2023, was conducted by the Naval Training Centre (NTC) of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN). The course has been concluded with a closing ceremony and presentation of certificates held at Nakhoda Hall, Naval Training Centre. Present as the Guest of Honour was Commander Willie bin Padan, RBN, Commandant Naval Training (CNT).
The objective of the course is to equip fleet officers at the junior level in the theoretical knowledge of warfare as well as in performing duties as boarding officers. The course syllabus entails subjects pertaining to three-dimensional warfare, non-conventional warfare, weapon systems and firing evolutions. The final assessment for the course participants was the Officer in Tactical Command (OTC) briefs.
A representative of the cohort, Lieutenant Hj Norfaizul bin Hj Morni, RBN reflected their experiences throughout the course, highlighting the journey as aspiring warfare officers, there is much to learn considering that JWOC only covers the fundamental knowledge of warfare.
The speech was followed by the certificate presentation to the course participants from the first and second serial of JWOC by the Guest of Honour. The closing ceremony ended with the closing recitation of doa followed by a group photo session.
