KDB DARUSSALAM, Monday, 03 July 2023 – KDB DARUSSALAM held a handing over and taking over (HOTO) ceremony for her outgoing and incoming Commanding Officers (CO), Commander Pg Mohd Faren bin Pg Mohd Noor and Lieutenant Commander Hj Mohd Arnold bin Hj Osman respectively on board KDB DARUSSALAM.
The ceremony started with a photo session with the ship officers and crew in front of the ship and proceeded with a thorough Command Brief to ensure a proper HOTO. The ceremony continued with the reporting of Officer of the Day to the outgoing CO for crew inspection and salutation for the outgoing CO. Commander Pg Mohd Faren bin Pg Mohd Noor, the 7th CO of KDB DARUSSALAM, shared his farewell speech highlighting his praise in the positive growth of the crew’s competence and proficiency as PV-80 sailors since his appointment as the ship’s captain from the year 2020. He will be assuming his new appointment as Head of Fleet Standard at the Royal Brunei Navy’s (RBN) Naval Inspectorate Cell.
The incoming CO, Lieutenant Commander Hj Mohd Arnold bin Hj Osman, had previously been appointed as KDB AS-SIDDIQ’s Commanding Officer and is now the 8th CO of KDB DARUSSALAM. The new CO had given his introductory speech to the crew, mentioning the importance of holding on to the Royal Brunei Armed Forces’ (RBAF) core values,
Setia, Taqwa, Berani and Professional along with his philosophy – embracing capability to operate at highest level, magnifying and maintaining competency at all levels of rank and the care of well-being and welfare are of equal importance for the health of the ship’s environment. The incoming CO had then inspected the crew as the new CO. The ceremony was then concluded with the recital of Do’a selamat and salutation for the incoming ship’s CO.
