BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Thursday, 16 February 2023 - The 39th National Day celebration began with a giant national flag hoisting ceremony in the capital. The raising of the giant national flag was officiated by The Honourable Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohammad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
The giant national flag was raised by 20 personnel from the Royal Brunei Navy led by Lieutenant Junior Grade Sylvester Cyrillyond bin Liming, RBN, in the vicinity of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex.
The theme for this year’s 37th National Day celebration is Menjayakan Wawasan Negara, in line with the nation’s aspirations of Brunei Vision 2035. The RBN is proud to continue the tradition and honour of hoisting the giant national flag hoisting ceremony.
