SINGAPORE, Sunday, 20 November 2022 – The Republic of Singapore Navy hosted this year’s Senior Warrant Officers’ Exchange Programme (SWEP) held annually with the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) between both navies’ senior Warrant Officers. SWEP 2022 was conducted over five (5) days from 15th November until 19th November 2022.
SWEP 2022 was held between Military Expert 6 Richard Goh, RSN’s Master Chief Navy and Warrant Officer 1 Roslan bin Duraman, RBN Sergeant Major. RBN was also further represented by Warrant Officer 1 Aliuddin bin Hj Sarbini, Warrant Officer 1 Alinorddin bin Haji Abdul Razak, Warrant Officer 2 Mohammad Izam bin Haji Othman, and Petty Officer Mohammad Basri bin Haji Mohammad Mansor, RBN.
Throughout the programme, the RBN SWEP delegation were brought around RSN to share changes in the RSN focused on the areas of logistics and training. The visit also included visits to RSN’s Damage Control Trainer, RSS INDEPENDENCE, MSRV GUARDIAN and the Naval Diving Unit. The RBN delegation also paid a courtesy call to Colonel Anthony Lee, Commander Maritime Training and Doctrine Command.
SWEP represents the longstanding close friendship between RBN and RSN across levels of leadership among other professional interactions and exercises at sea.
