MUARA, Tuesday, 12 July 2022 – The Royal Brunei Navy today held an event to distribute korban meats in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidil Adha 1443 Hijrah at
Dewan
Samudera, Muara Naval Base. The distributions were made to RBN personnel and a total of 59 Asnaf recipients. The event began with a recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, Surah Al-Fatihah and Takbir Adidil Adha led by Ustaz Muhammad Sabqi bin Nasar.
Present to distribute the sacrificial meats was First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Spry bin Haji Serudi @ Haji Seruji, Commander RBN. Also present were Captain Haji Mohammad Sarif Pudin bin Mat Serudin, Deputy Commander RBN, RBN Senior Officers, Officers, and other ranks, and community leaders including the Acting
Penghulu Mukim Serasa, Ketua Kampung Masjid Lama, Pekan Muara, Sabun, and Pelumpong and Acting
Ketua Kampung RPN Serasa, Kampung Serasa, RPN Meragang.
This Korban distribution event serves as one of the religious practices that falls under Sunnah Muakkad, which reflects and signifies the sense of gratefulness to Allah the Almighty for all the blessings that have been bestowed in life. Apart from performing good deeds and religious obligations, this practice also serves to cultivate a sense of caring and compassion for the community while at the same time strengthening relationships among Muslims. Hence, it is also to create awareness to look after our neighbors particularly to those in need.
