BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Thursday 9 June 2022 – A recital of Surah Yassin and Tahlil ceremony for the departed members of the royal family; Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam, Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman and Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah. The event was held this morning by Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) in conjunction to the Royal Brunei Navy 57th Anniversary.
The religious ceremony was held at the Royal Mausoleum was intended to seek mercy and blessings from Allah Subhannahu Wata’ala upon the departed members of the royal family and was attended by Commander RBN, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Spry bin haji Serudi @ Haji Seruji, officers and ratings of the RBN. Leading the recitation of Surah Yassin and Tahlil was Ustaz Sabqi, Religious Officer of Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
The recitation of Surah Yassin and Tahlil at the Royal Mausoleum has been a tradition for the RBN. Such religious practice demonstrates our continuous devotion to Allah Subhannahu Wata’ala and to maintain our determination to the national philosophy of Melayu Islam Beraja.
