MUARA, Wednesday, 23 March 2022 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) received His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s personal gift of dates (Kurma Kurnia Peribadi) in conjunction with the month of Ramadhan 1443 Hijrah in a ceremony held at the Surau Al-Huda, Muara Naval Base this afternoon.
First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Spry bin Haji Serudi @ Hj Seruji attended as the Guest of Honour to distribute the dates. Also present were members of the RBN Executive Board, select officers and sailors representing departments within RBN to limit attendance as a COVID-19 mitigation measure.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the distribution of dates to heads of departments within RBN and the recitation of Doa Selamat. The event concluded after the mass Asar prayers.
The distribution of dates as personal gifts reflects the loving and care of His Majesty especially in performing religious deeds in conjunction with the upcoming holy month of Ramadhan.
