PORT DICKSON, MALAYSIA – Lieutenant Commander Muhammad Muizz bin Hj Md Jaini from the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) joined the ASEAN Peacekeeping Staff Exercise 2 (APSE 2) held at the Malaysian Peacekeeping Center in Port Dickson, Malaysia from 24 June 2024 to 5 July 2024.

The concept of APSE 2 was to aim for a unity understanding of promoting ASEAN networking, interoperability and capacity through peacekeeping atmosphere by conducting relevant exercise including gender perspective for the implementation of peace operations. The staff exercise fostered camaraderie and collaboration among participants. The Staff Exercise was divided into 3 phases which included a recap on cross-cutting issues in the Peacekeeping Operations (PKO), Military Process Planning which subsequently led to the conduct of the staff exercise based on PKO scenario.
The APSE 2 concluded with a presentation by Director General of the Defence Training Department, Brigadier General Hjh Fadzillah bte Abdullah from the Malaysian Armed Forces. The next iteration of APSE will be conducted in the Philippines in 2025.
