MUARA, 23-24 July 2018 – An exercise planning conference took place at the Multi National Coordination Centre (MNCC), Muara between the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Royal Australian Navy (RAN).Representing the RAN was LDCR Nicholas Alexander Lee, RAN Delegation for Exercise Planning Conference (EPC) PENGUIN 18/18. The conference was held from the 23 – 24 July 2018.
The conference was started with Welcoming Remark that was delivered by RBN’s Head of Delegation, Commander Haji Edy Jofren bin Pehin Datu Penglima Colonel (Retired) Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, RBN, Commanding Officer of KDB DARULEHSAN. After the Welcoming Remark, it was continued by the discussion which was chaired by Lieutenant Commander Saiful Hazril bin Ali, RBN Executive Officer KDB DARUSSALAM. Both RBN and RAN discussed on the sequence of events to be conducted during the shore, sea and post phase for the upcoming exercise which is expected to commence on the 17 – 24 October 2018.
The EPC gave the opportunity for both sides to underscore the strong relationship between Brunei Darussalam and Australia, noting the importance of both Navies to achieve common objectives. RBN and RAN are determined to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation, which includes exchanging best practices in joint operational practices.
Both sides agreed on the pre-planned programme and serials where the signing of minutes was held on 24 July 2018. The RBN’s Head of Delegation and RAN’s Head of Delegation expressed their gratitude and appreciation towards those in attendance for their cooperation and dedication.
