Muara, Thursday, 28 January 2021 – First Admiral Spry bin Haji Serudi@Haji Seruji, The Commander of Royal Brunei Navy, received a courtesy call from Her Excellency Tiffany McDonald, Australian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam today at Royal Brunei Navy Headquarters.
During the call, both sides affirmed the continuous friendly relations between the two countries despite the challenges post by Covid-19 pandemic. Social networks and bilateral exchange remains unchanged as both Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Royal Australian Navy (RAN) underscores areas of mutual benefits by sharing lessons of best practices and insights through exercises and most recently the Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) User Group dialogue.
Her Excellency emphasized commitment to deepen and expand relationships with RBN through initiatives of Navy to Navy talks, Bilateral Exercises namely Exercise Penguin and outline courses offers in RAN for RBN personnel.
Her Excellency then made a short visit to KDB DARUSSALAM, received by Commander Khairil bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Fleet Commander of RBN, Commanding Officer and Officers of KDB DARUSSALAM. Onboard KDB DARUSSALAM, Her Excellency had the opportunity to witness RHIC launching and recovery demonstration by the crew of KDB DARUSSALAM.
Her Excellency Tiffany McDonald was appointed as the Australian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam on September 2020.
