KUALA BELAIT, Sunday, 24 November 2019 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) ships sailed to Belait District for a goodwill visit that took place from Thursday, 21 November 2019 to Monday, 25 November 2019. The RBN ships, which were the Fast Patrol Boat, KDB SYAFAAT and Fast Interceptor Boat, KDB MUSTAED berthed at the Maritime and Port Authority Brunei Darussalam (MPABD), Kuala Belait during the visit.
Residents of Kuala Belait were able to visit the ships, interact with RBN personnel and view the exhibitions at the MPABD jetty during open ship days. This was an opportunity for RBN to also showcase its assets, and share information on the roles and responsibilities of the RBN to Belait District residents who are keen to consider a career path in the navy.
Lieutenant Commander Haji Abdul Hafiz Mubarak bin Haji Rusli, RBN, as Head Delegation and Commanding Officer KDB SYAFAAT, and Lieutenant Md Hasmalie bin Awg Haji Ahmad, RBN, Commanding Officer KDB MUSTAED paid a courtesy call to the Belait District Officer on Saturday, 23 November 2019.
During their time in Belait District, the RBN officers and crew were also involved in charitable works such as cleaning campaign at the Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque as well as the KACA Brunei Association in Kuala Belait. In addition, friendly sports matches was also held between external agencies such as Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) to further strengthen relations between the two parties.
