MUARA, Monday, 16 September 2019 – Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) welcomed the arrival of Tentara Nasional Indonesia – Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL) KRI BIMA SUCI as a goodwill visit to Brunei Darussalam beginning on Monday, 16 September 2019 until Thursday, 19 September 2019.
Present to receive KRI BIMA SUCI was Captain Norshahrinizam bin Haji Talib, RBN, Fleet Commander of RBN. Also present were senior officers, officers and RBN personnel.
Throughout the goodwill visit, Commander Waluyo is expecting to have a courtesy call to the Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily, RBN. Both sides will discuss on the cooperation for further enhancement between the two navies.
KRI BIMA SUCI will also will be hosting an onboard reception lead by Commander Waluyo and the First Admiral Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily, Commander of RBN as the Guest of Honour. The onboard reception will be attended by RBN senior officers and officers from Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), foreign ambassadors and officers.
Officers and personnel onboard KRI BIMA SUCI performed an entertaining live drum band performance at Rizqun International Hotel Gadong. KRI BIMA SUCI is also anticipated to have a community service, volley ball sport interaction between TNI-AL and RBAF naval cadets and cultural tours throughout their visit in Brunei Darussalam. This will be provide the avenue for both naval personnel to share experiences and knowledge as well as to foster friendship and esprit de corps.
