CAMBODIA, Wednesday, 21 August 2019 – The 13th ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting (ANCM) Staff Meeting was held at Sokha Angkor Resort, Siem Reap Cambodia. The staff meeting was chaired by Vice Admiral Kruoch Kim Thon, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Royal Cambodian Navy (RCN) and the Deputy Secretary of National Committee for Maritime Security (NCMS). The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) was represented by Commander Sonny Iskandar bin Rasani, RBN, the Acting Chief of Staff.

The first session of the meeting led by Captain Tith Saphal, focused on the preparations and administrative requirements for the upcoming 13th ANCM which will be held in November. This was followed by a series of updates from various navies discussed their initiatives brought by their respective navies namely EXERCISE KOMODO and International Fleet Review (IFR) organized by the Indonesian Navy (IN) in 2020. The Vietnam Peoples’ Navy (VPN) will have the honour to chair ASEAN Summit and 14th ANCM, ASEAN Maritime Naval Exercise (AMNEX) and City Parade also in 2020 .

All the representatives from ASEAN navies also had the chance to experience some Cambodian culture and heritage by visiting Angkor Wat. The highlight was a live traditional dance performances during the dinner reception.
