MUARA, Monday, 20 May 2019 – Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) received the homecoming of KDB DARUTTAQWA after a 39-days long deployment participating in various events and exercises that include; a Multinational Naval Activities of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy and ChinaSoutheast Asia Maritime Exercise (SEAMEX) held in Qingdao, People’s Republic of China, ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting Plus Expert Working Group on Maritime Security Field Training Exercise (ADMM-Plus EWG on MS FTX) held in Busan, Republic of Korea and in transit to Changi Naval Base, Republic of Singapore and the International Maritime Defence Exhibition (IMDEX) Asia 2019 which was held in Changi Naval Base, Republic of Singapore.

Present to welcome KDB DARUTTAQWA was Deputy Commander of RBN, Captain Pengiran Mohamad bin Pengiran Haji Damit. Also present were the Fleet Commander, senior officers, officers and RBN personnel, as well as families of those on deployment.

The deployment was commanded by Commander Hj Edy Jofren bin Pehin Datu Penglima Colonel (Rtd) Dato Paduka Hj Abdul Jalil, RBN, with a total complement of 79 personnel. KDB DARUTTAQWA had successfully represented RBN in fulfilling one of the RBAF’s roles in promoting defence diplomacy and also as a practical contributor to regional cooperation in defence and security. This deployment also marks a significant milestone in RBN’s trajectory in asserting herself as a competent and reliable maritime partner on both bilateral and multilateral platforms by showing her commitment and dedication in promoting peace and stability in the region.
