SEPANGGAR, MALAYSIA; 25 – 28 February 2018 – The 5th Navy to Navy Talks between the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) was held at the RMN Headquarters at Sepanggar Bay, Kota Kinabalu. Representing RBN was the RBN Chief of Staff, Commander Sahibul Bahari bin Hj Zainal Abidin, RBN and Commanding Officer Naval Training, Lieutenant Commander Ali Mustafa bin Hj Umar, RBN.
Rear Admiral Datuk Pahlawan Syed Zahrul Putra Syed Abdullah, Assistant Chief of Staff, Operations and Exercise (OPEKS), RMN HQ delivered the welcoming remarks, where he highlighted the long-standing and close relations between both navies. Discussions focused on issues of mutual interest and opportunities to build capacity such as through exercises, courses and trainings and also discussed opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between the two navies.
The RBN delegation also paid a courtesy call to Vice Admiral Datuk Abdul Rahman bin Hj Ayob, the Eastern Fleet Commander of RMN. During the courtesy call, both sides expressed satisfaction with their long standing bilateral ties and discussed opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between the two navies.
