MUARA, Thursday, 25 October 2018 – 17 Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) personnel and 2 Royal Brunei Airforce (RBAirF) personnel successfully completed their course which was held for about 8 weeks. The basic Base Defence course specifically conducted by instructors from Base Defence RBN. The closing ceremony was officially closed by the Guest of Honour, Lieutenant Commander Mohammad Nazrin bin Hj Sabli, RBN, Acting Chief of Staff of RBN at Naval Training Centre, RBN.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and followed by a speech from the course’s participant representative. Highlight of the event was when Overall Best Performance award was given to 51538 Ordinary Rate Muhammad Muaz Bin Mezalani. The Guest of Honour presented both certificates and patches to all the course participants and then followed by the welcoming speech.
Throughout the course, participants were introduced to basics in defending a military base and familiarised themselves in conducting Vehicle Check points (VCP), Anti Riot procedures as well as cordon and search mission. Course participants were also given exposure and the know-how to complete a mission with a given time. The course also focuses on team building exercises which are designed to facilitate teamwork and communication focusing on the importance of working as a team, testing mental limits and also their level of fitness. 
Last but not least, all of the knowledge and experience gained during this course will be beneficial to the participants for their career progression.
