MUARA NAVAL BASE, Thursday, 18 October 2018– Naval Training Centre have conducted a Base Defence Basic Course started on 15 September 2018 and expected to finish on the 25th October 2018. Its a 8 week course that focus mainly on the RBN personnel that will be under the base defence and the first course to be ever held by the RBN since the RBN Base Defence establishment back in 2016.
The main highlight of this course is the Exercise Perwira that focus on the practical training for Keselamatan Dalam Negeri (KDN) which include anti-riot procedure, search and cordon, combat patrol and vehicle check point (VCP). The one week exercise gives opportunity to the participant to be involved in the real physical exercise after a thorough 7 weeks theory classes with also the involvement of other units such as the Military Legal Unit, Defence Security Unit, Map Reading Unit, Chemical Biological Radioactive Explosive (CBRE) and Combat Support Squadron from The Army.
One of the main scenario is the vehicle check point is to be conducted in different states as per required, and anti riot team to be prepare in case of any riot expected to happen. The final day of the exercise is focus on anti riot where the current villagers (actors) is unhappy with the current situation in Muara Camp. The arrest of the tribe’s head marks the end of the exercise Perwira.
Present on the main arena to watch is the Commandant of Naval Training, 511 Kdr Khairil bin Hj Abd Rahman, RBN.
This is the first basic base defence course to be held by the RBN and will also accept participant from the same base defence branch from other unit and currently having two personnel from The Airforce Regimental Police joining the course.
