JEJU, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, Thursday, 11 October 2018 -  The Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, attended the International Fleet Review (IFR) in conjunction with 70th anniversary Republic of Korea Armed Forces day in Jeju, Republic of Korea.

The IFR event started with welcoming reception dinner held at Lotte Hotel, Jeju, for all attending Chief of Navies and representative with spouses hosted by Admiral Sim Seung-Seob, Chief of Naval Operations Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN). This has given the opportunity for all Head of Delegations to interact and at the same time promotes and strengthens the bond between navies. The welcoming reception commenced with a welcoming speech by Chief of Naval Operations ROKN.

The highlight of this event was ‘The Pass – in – review, held on Thursday, 11th October 2018.

President Moon Jae-In, President Republic of Korea, embarked flagship, ROKS ILCHUBONG, reviewed the fleet which saw 43 ships and 24 aircrafts, from various countries, in formation off the southern coast of Jeju Island. President of Republic of Korea received the salute for vessels sailed past. The Commander of RBN with spouse are also in attendance onboard flagship together with 20 Chiefs of Navy and 26 Heads of Delegation. 

Representing RBN ship is KDB DARUTTAQWA which was part of the fleet reviewed for the IFR.

The event Pass – in – review ended with a High note with a demonstration of high altitude military parachuting and Airshow by aircraft type F-16 and F-15 before the flagship entering port.

On the next agenda for IFR 2018 is the congratulatory dinner which will be held on Friday, 12th October 2018.
